Life can be unpredictable, but we can make something out of it, as this 43-year-old man has done.
Tylan Bailey had it rough, and for 24 years of his life, he worked tirelessly as a janitor at Hightower Elementary School in DeKalb Country, Georgia, United States.
However, determined to change his fortunes, Bailey enrolled for a degree program at Georgia State University, USA.
At age 40, he showed that it’s not too late to pursue one’s dream when he began studying for a Bachelor’s degree in Health and Physical Education and a minor in Special Education at Georgia State University.
Bailey combined his day’s job as a janitor with his academic workload, and after three years, he’s bagged a degree that puts him on course to live his dream life.
He showed great determination to pursue his lifelong dream of being a teacher. He attended classes at the College of Education and Human Development of Georgia State University to meet the requirements to qualify as a teacher.
“I always wanted to be a college graduate. I always wanted to be a teacher. So having everything sink in at that moment was the best feeling I could ever have,” Bailey shared with WSBTV.
After 24 years of being a janitor and 3 years of rigorous study and work, Bailey is finally living his dream aged 43.
