I can’t keep calm – Double blessing for young Nigerian lady as she secures Chevening and Commonwealth scholarships

Sometimes growing up in hostile environments helps toughen us for life’s greatest battles and toughen it did for a young remarkable lady called Tolulope Adeoti.

Tolulope emerged as one of the 2% selected for the Commonwealth Shared and Chevening scholarships.

Achieving an outstanding feat by bagging two scholarships simultaneously, the exceptional lawyer expressed her immense gratitude to God for coming through for her in her most dire moments.

She expressed her appreciation via LinkedIn where she also narrated her journey to achieving such an incredible feat.

In her post, she explained that out of 58,000 applicants only 2% of the population were selected to be awarded scholarships.

Tolu also recounted her early experiences and how she had to work twice as hard to achieve their goals.

According to her, the tough experiences intensified her ambitions and shaped her into becoming who she is today.

In her post, she said:

To enhance my skills, I applied for the Chevening and the Commonwealth Shared Scholarship and I am excited to write that I have been selected for two prestigious scholarships; the Chevening Scholarship and the Commonwealth Shared Scholarship.

Both scholarships are highly competitive and I feel so honoured to be selected as a part of the top 2 % out of 58,000 applicants across the world.

It’s interesting to not that scholarships are worth over 100,000£. I appreciate the Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office for recognising the advocacy work that I do.

I look forward to learning more about the interplay of gender studies, conflict and human rights to cater for the needs of vulnerable women and girls in the rural communities in Nigeria.
