A young Ghanaian woman, Dr Shekira Yahaya, has graduated as the Overall Best Medical Student during the 22nd Congregation Ceremony of the University for Development Studies (UDS).
Dr. Shekira Yahaya swept virtually all accolades in the School of Medicine as she won seven of the awards, leaving only two for the other students at the School of Medicine.
A total of 110 undergraduate students graduated from UDS in November with first-class honours on November 6 as announced by the university
Dr Shekira Yahaya made herself proud as she graduated from the prestigious university with seven coveted awards, including the Mr Poku Prize for Best Medical Student in Paediatrics and Child Health and Ghana Medical Association Award for Overall Best Medical Student.
Other awards won on the day were Dr. Patricia Turner Prize for Occupational Medicine and Dr. Bill Turner Prize for Best Student in Family Medicine which were won by Dr. Agyemang Eric and Dr. Sabeng Marfo Patience.
