Kenyan Lady Celebrates Success 10 Years After Her Gruesome Accident

A Kenyan lady who met her demise 10 years ago has taken to social media to celebrate her educational achievements.

Patricia graduated as the best in Analytical Chemistry with first-class honors.
She used to walk upright until the accident that changed her forever. During the course of nursing injuries she sustained from the accident, she spent two years without involving in any academic undertakings.

She went into depression causing her heartbreaks and nightmares. She received rejections and stigma but still managed to pull through the drenches.

In her words

“It’s officially 10 yrs after my road accident. 10 yrs inclusive of the 2 years I missed school and still graduated as best in Analytical Chemistry w/ first class Honors, Inclusive of the many months I fell into depression and became a mental health advocate for young people, inclusive of the months of I received rejection and stigma but still managed to change people’s perception of person’s with disabilities. I never thought I would even come to see this anniversary. I don’t know about tomorrow, but I know it keeps getting better!”

Patricia is a Season 2 Ms President finalist representing Nairobi County. She is currently the Vice Chair of the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA) Youth Advisory Panel. She is currently the Kenyan champion of the South-South HIV Prevention Learning Network(Phase II), She is the former Kenya country director of the Global Youth Consortium towards eliminating FGM. Patricia is a certified Disability Inclusion Facilitator(DIF). She is an advocate of Sexual and Reproductive Health Rights where is an ambassador of different organizations such as Y+Tausi taskforce and Inua Dada Foundation, and a champion of POLICARE, an initiative by the Kenyan National police service to act independently on matters of SGBV.
She is a former Brand Ambassador of Riziki Source, an organization that facilitates employment for persons with disabilities. She is very passionate about leadership where she is the former campus director of Hult Prize Multimedia University of Kenya 2020/2021, also, the former Secretary for Special needs, social welfare, Health & Environment in Multimedia University, students union. Patricia is a former CPO for Virdismart Global, a startup that made it to the Hult prize castle accelerator pitching a solution to fight food fraud. Patricia is a motivational speaker, an environmentalist and a mental health advocate . She is a panel moderator. She supports humanitarian activities and is a passionate volunteer. She is also an athlete where she plays in the Wheelchair Tennis Kenyan team .
Patricia is an Alumni of the EmployAble program by future makers in 2021 and also a graduate from Multimedia university of Kenya (2021) with a Bachelor’s degree in Analytical Chemistry, First Class Honors, making her part of the smallest fraction of young women with disabilities to have graduated in STEM.
