Young African mathematician bags PhD degree at 25 years old, sets record

A brilliant and young African Mathematician named Abdulzeid Yen Anafo has set a record after bagging his Ph.D. degree in Mathematics from the University of Mines and Technology, Tarkwa, Ghana at the age of 25.

The young Abdulzeid studied his undergraduate program at the University of Development Studies (UDS), Ghana where he graduated at the age of 20 with a Bachelor’s Degree in Pure Mathematics.

Celebrating his feat on Linkedin, Abdulzeid says he is grateful to God and the Professors who supervised his research throughout his academic journey.

Before enrolling for Ph.D. at the University of Mines and Technology, Abdulzeid had gone for his Master’s degree at the prestigious African Institute for Mathematical Sciences (AIMS).

The African Institute for Mathematical Sciences is a research institution focused on Mathematical Sciences, it is located in South Africa but has several associated networks of linked institutes in Senegal, Ghana, Cameroon, Tanzania and Rwanda.
